I’ve been using FitPal for 3 months by now and wanted to share my experience. It’s an iPhone app using back camera to monitor my pulse at rest and when standing up, and calculates functional capacity (physical energy level) and recommendations on how intensively one should exercise – personal heart rate zone valid for only 1 hour after the test. When exercising, FitPal allows quickly checking a pulse and getting a recommendation on whether to speed up or slow down… I started using FItPal as a beta-tester before it was released, as my fitness club was participating in FitPal pre-release.
Well, before I got FitPal I was exercising for 2.5 years at Golds Gym and was taking personal trainer session every month. Believe it or not, I was NOT making any progress… My muscle mass was the same, same fat and BMI. I ate lots of protein but it did not help. I was frustrated quite a bit… When I downloaded FitPal onto my iPhone and tried it next day I realized where my problem was. FitPal kept telling me “Fire Up” after every exercise and every set. So I did more, and more… I finally got where my limit is with the help of FitPal. I was all sweating, from top to bottom, and I felt great! It was an excitement I was missing for many years! And I lost 45 pounds in 3 months! It’s not a big number, but remember that before that I was exercising 3 times a week for 2.5 years and did not lose a single pound! FitPal is an eye opener in my life and I highly recommend others to try it out. It’s an unbelievable transformation in my life in just 3 months. Highly recommend it to anyone engaged in fitness.
